They sat huddled under stars bright and brilliant. No looks engaged, nor words exchanged. About them, the Wind caressed softly. Moonrise announced its eminent arrival at the horizon with a pale light amongst and between the firmament. Off in the distance, beasts yowled and screeched their presence amongst brush and bush. In the sky, night birds silently surveyed the plain in hunt of prey. Still, they huddled under stars bright and brilliant. No looks engaged, nor words exchanged.
After a time, Clouds began to flow, left-flanking the rising moon, the Wind now swirling in its support. At the advancement of the Clouds, the firmament lost its pale luster, the beasts quieted their presence, and the birds abandoned their hunt. Still, they huddled under stars less bright and brilliant. No looks engaged, nor words exchanged.
Soon, darkened Clouds overtook the moon, and the stars no longer shone above the plain. The Wind raged its animosity and howled its support of the Clouds. The beasts in the brush ceased announcing their presence, and the birds long roosted in their eyries. Still, they huddled under stars no longer visible. No looks engaged, nor words exchanged.
Now came rain, lightning, and thunder. Clouds dominated the sky complete, blocking the bright brilliance of moon and stars. The Wind shrieked its continued support. Beasts and birds hunkered tightly in dens and eyries. Still, they huddled under raging storm. No looks engaged, nor words exchanged.
At a time, the Clouds weakened in dominance; the Wind ebbed its support as rain, thunder, and lightning muted. Beast and birds lightened their huddles, yelping and chirping in relief. Still, they huddled under acceding storm. No looks engaged, nor words exchanged.
Soon, a schism appeared off in the distant horizon, permitting pre-dawn light to presage hostility's end blithely. The Cloud's attack all but evaporated as the Wind's swirl signaled an abandonment of its support. Beasts and birds gingerly surveyed the plains in hopes of resuming activities. Still, they huddled under the retreating storm. No looks engaged, nor words exchanged.
At the horizon, Sunrise announced its eminent arrival with a pale blue sky. About them, the Wind caressed softly. Off in the distance, beasts yowled and screeched their presence amongst brush and bush. In the morning sky, day birds silently surveyed the plain in hunt of prey. Now they convened under sky bright and clear. Looks engaged and words exchanged: "Once again, as always, the storm has passed."
